Deborah E. Jones, fondly known as Dr. “DJ,” is a distinguished educator, executive coach, and leadership consultant with an inspiring 50-year career dedicated to transforming education. A native of Winston-Salem, NC, DJ wrote her first book, Teacher’s Pet: Notes on Children, Teaching, and Learning, based on a class assignment in her senior year at the University of North Carolina at Greensboro in 1975.

She earned a B.S. degree in Physical Education from the University of North Carolina at Greensboro in 1975, an M.Ed. in 1982, and a Doctorate in Educational Leadership from the same university in 1997. DJ also earned an M.S. degree in School Administration from North Carolina A&T State University in 1987. As the founder of Educational Leadership Consulting, LLC, Dr. DJ specializes in leadership development, school improvement, and customized coaching and training programs that empower educators and organizations to achieve meaningful, lasting success.
